Meet Our Coaches

Alex Morgan - Co-Owner of AEPT Gym

Level 2 Gym Instructor | Level 3 Personal Trainer

My background in fitness and coaching started through sport and military service. Growing up I played football, boxed and competed in Muay Thai, which built my passion for discipline, performance and pushing physical limits from an early age.

I served as a soldier in the British Army within the Parachute Regiment before later becoming a Physical Training Instructor within the Paras and SFSG, coaching and developing soldiers operating at an elite level.

Those experiences shaped not only my approach to training but also my belief in resilience, accountability and the importance of strong team culture.

I founded AEPT with Emma in 2014 with the vision of creating more than just a gym. I wanted to create the same sense of community, support and shared standards that I experienced during my military career. A place where people push each other, grow together and bring out the best in one another.

I strongly believe that “iron sharpens iron” and that training alongside like minded people creates better results, stronger mindsets and lasting confidence.

My coaching style combines structure, hard work and encouragement, helping people of all abilities become fitter, stronger and more resilient.

Emma Morgan - Co-Owner of AEPT Gym

Level 2 Gym Instructor | Level 3 Personal Trainer | Level 4 Nutrition for Weight Management | Pre & Post Natal | Level 3 Massage Therapy

My background is a mix of movement, performance and people, and it's shaped everything about how I coach. Born in Denmark and brought up in Portugal, I moved to the UK at fifteen to study dance, musical theatre and drama, which gave me an early understanding of discipline, physical training and what it takes to perform under pressure.

I've been coaching and personal training for sixteen years now, working across small private studios, big chain gyms and hotel gyms, learning from every kind of environment and every kind of client along the way. Those years taught me that no two people walk in with the same goals, the same body or the same starting point, and that the best coaching meets people exactly where they are.

I founded AEPT with Alex in 2014 as a small personal training studio, before moving to Berkhamsted and opening AEPT Gym in 2024, then expanding into our Aston Clinton home in 2026. Building this place alongside Alex, while raising our two little girls, has been the proudest thing I've done.

My coaching brings together strength, conditioning, nutrition and recovery, helping people feel stronger in their bodies and more confident in what they're capable of, whatever stage of life they're in.

Miguel Dias - Coach

Level 3 Personal Trainer, HYROX Level 1 Coach, MSc Advanced Clinical Practice

I was born in Portugal and have been involved in sport from a young age. From competitive swimming and ring hockey to triathlons and endurance sports, movement and performance have always been a huge part of my life.

After moving to the UK to pursue a career in Emergency Medicine, I’ve balanced the demanding life of a clinician while continuing to push myself as an athlete. Working throughout the COVID-19 pandemic helped me to truly understand the importance of physical fitness, resilience, recovery, and long-term health not only for performance, but for life itself.

My journey led me into the world of obstacle course racing, Spartan competitions, CrossFit, calisthenics, and eventually HYROX, where I have discovered a real passion for both competing and coaching. Since then, I have competed in multiple HYROX events while continuing to develop skills across strength, endurance, running, and functional fitness.

Alongside my athletic background, I also bring expertise as an Emergency Medicine Advanced Clinical Practitioner, with a strong interest in sports rehabilitation, injury prevention, and athlete performance.

I’m committed to helping athletes at AEPT become stronger, fitter, and more resilient through intelligent coaching, real-world experience, and a genuine passion for helping people perform at their best.

Ceri Cave - HYROX Youngstars Coach

With over 25 years of teaching in schools, many of which were in PE roles, along with volunteer coaching in sports clubs, you could say that working with young people on their movement skills is my passion.

Combining this with my personal experience and love of training at AEPT is pretty much a match made for me.

I am so proud of the Hyrox Youngstars and Teen community that we have built at AEPT Gym and look forward to seeing how this important addition to our community can grow and develop.

Nathan Morrison - Boxing Coach

Level 3 Personal Trainer, Level 2 Fitness Instructor

I’ve been involved in boxing for most of my life, with over 7 years of coaching experience. I first started boxing at 12 years old to build confidence and lose weight, which eventually led to multiple fights and competing at a high level..

Now, I specialise in helping people of all levels improve their boxing skills, fitness and confidence through 1-1 spadework sessions and group training classes.

Ian Saunders - Coach

Personal Training Level 2 | Personal Training Level 3 | Counselling Skills Level 1 | Kettlebells, Boxercise and Spin Instructor

My journey into coaching started through my own fitness challenges. As an asthmatic, I wanted to better understand how the body works, improve my own performance, and push beyond the limitations I once placed on myself.

That passion has grown into helping others discover what they’re truly capable of, whether they’re just starting their fitness journey, training for HYROX, improving athletic performance, or simply wanting to feel fitter, stronger and more confident.

I believe great coaching goes beyond just training. Physical performance, nutrition and mental wellbeing all play a huge role in achieving long-term results, and I aim to bring balance to all three with every client I work with.

My coaching style is high-energy, challenging and supportive, combining strength, conditioning and functional fitness to help you unlock your full potential both inside and outside the gym.

Whether group coaching or HYROX sessions, I’m looking forward to helping you push your limits and achieve your goals at AEPT.
